Balochistan: Son of slain political leader abducted by military

Nasir Ghaffar Langov son of slain leader Ghaffar Langov is abducted by Frontier Corps from Quetta, the capital of Balochistan on 15 December 2017.

Mr. Nasir Ahmad is 20 years old student of Intermediate in Science College Quetta and only brother of five sisters, who lost their father in 2011. He was the attendant of his father in a Karachi hospital, when security forces abducted Mr. Ghaffar Langov for the third time.

His father, Abdul Ghaffar Langov was a nationalist leader. He was once abducted in 2000 and forcibly disappeared for six months. Then he was abducted in June 2006 for second time and released in May 2009, after three years. On 11 December 2009, he was abducted from a hospital in Karachi for the third time and remained disappeared till his mutilated dead body was found in July 2011.

Mr. Nasir Ahmad, the only son of slan Ghaffar Langov was abducted from Kili Allah Dad, in front of the public. Local police station refused to file a complaints of enforced disappearance against the security forces.

More than 1200 persons are reportedly abducted and forcibly disappeared in 2017 from four districts of Balochistan, Awaran, Kech, Gwadar and Panjgur. While the rest of Balochistan is more under reported.

Most of the forcibly disappeared persons are in twenties and thirties of their age and most of them are students.
Family members and the friends of Mr. Nasir feel fear for his life and safety, as most of the forcibly disappeared persons are found dead after abduction, some in months and some after years.
