Three Baloch students, two of them brothers, were abducted by the military personnel from the Karachi city on January 4, 2018.

Naim Sajidi, the brother of two of the abductees, said that the Karachi police and personnel of intelligence agencies in plain clothes knocked the door of their house in the Madu Ghot area of Karachi at around 4:00 AM. After entering the apartment, they asked about Mumtaz and Kamran, two of them brothers.

They took Mumtaz and Kamran after confirming their identities.

The two brothers are residents of Grésha, district Khuzdar, Balochistan. Mumtaz Sajidi is a student of International Relations at Karachi University. Kamran, the younger brother started his university recently.

Another student, Saif Baloch, was also abducted from the same area at the same time. Saif is a resident of Turbat area of Balochistan and a student of M. Phil at the Karachi University.

It is the fourth incident in a row since 28 October 2017 in which students from Balochistan have been abducted in Karachi. Nine students of Balochistan were abducted by Sindh Rangers on 28 October 2017, four students on 15 November and Sagheer Ahmed, another student on 20 November 2017.

Most of the educational institutions in Balochistan have been transformed into military garrisons, and teachers forcibly disappeared. People from Balochistan send their children to other cities of Pakistan for better education. But the recent series of incidents of abduction of Baloch students in Karachi seem to have closed all doors of education for them.
